Did Mothercraft opt into the Canada Wide Early Learning and Care Program?

Yes! In 2022, Mothecraft opted into the Canada-Wide Early Learning and child Care (CWELCC) program.  Initiated and funded by the Government of Canada, CWELCC is a historic new program that will increase the number of child care spaces available for young children, reduce the costs to their parents and advance both quality and inclusion in licensed child care settings. CWELCC is a five-year plan that is being implemented in stages, with the aim of reaching an average fee of $10.00 per day by 2025-2026 and the addition of 86,000 new child care spaces in Ontario.

Is Breaking the Cycle free?

Yes! Breaking the Cycle is free. The program serves women who are pregnant or have children under the age of 6 years, and who are struggling with addictions. The program serves mothers and children together. The program is delivered with funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.

Can I just drop in to a Mothercraft EarlyON program?

The Mothercraft EarlyON Child and Family Program offers both drop-in and pre-registered programs.  To attend any EarlyON program, parents/caregivers must register as an EarlyON participant. For the monthly calendar of programs and information about how to register, click on the button below.

What makes Mothercraft’s ECE Diploma program UNIQUE?

With over 80 years experience in education and training, Mothercraft College of ECE is a highly specialized post-secondary institution that exclusively trains early learning professionals.  We offer an accelerated, intensive ECE Diploma program for both Canadian students and internationally trained individuals that is recognized by Ontario’s College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).  Small class sizes to allow individualized student support and a collegial learning environment. Graduates who successfully complete the one-year program receive both a diploma in Early Childhood Education and certificates in Infant Toddler Specialization and How Does Learning Happen – Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years.

Does Mothercraft have a program at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre?

Yes! The Magic Castle is a free child-minding service for children birth to 12 years old who have a family member undergoing treatment at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Mothercraft early childhood educators take care of children so their parent or caregiver can go to their appointment or visit family at the Princess Margaret. Children who are patients themselves are also welcome
